Tooling
engineering operations are based at Dialight's corporate headquarters
in Farmingdale, New Jersey. The department is responsible
for design of molds and fabrication for the manufacture of
plastic molded parts. Mold tooling is designed and developed
in-house by a staff possessing over 120 years of tooling experience
with Dialight products. Product and tool designers collaborate
to develop the best product designs for meeting customer specifications
and moldability requirements. The design groups work with
state-of-the-art Pro/ENGINEER® software, and designs are
proof-tested with mold flow simulation software prior to fabrication
of mold tooling.
The
tool shop is equipped with:
- CNC multi-axis Deckel® milling machines
- Charmilles®RAM-type EDM discharge machines
- Charmilles® CNC wire EDM discharge machine

The shop is well equipped for mold making and associated tooling. Capabilities
such as turning, grinding, honing, drilling, hobbing, and heat treatment
of tool steels are all part of the shop's activities. All measuring equipment
and instruments are calibrated to ISO 9001 standards. Mold tryout and sampling
capabilities are provided by two BOY® molding machines (24 and 55 tons).
The tool shop's equipment capabilities and experienced tooling staff provide
Dialight customers with the resources necessary to successfully produce high-quality,
custom-designed plastic products. |
