We seek a unique individual to join our Engineering team to provider reliability and consistency to our evolving product quality and warranty programs.  This position will provide an opportunity for personal growth and professional development for candidates who want to grow their professional career with our state of the art lighting products’ company.  The successful candidate will work closely with our electronic, mechanical, optics and software engineers and with our professionals in our Corporate Headquarters in Farmingdale, New Jersey and in our manufacturing facilities located in Roxboro, NC, Penang, Malaysia and in Tijuana and Ensenada, Mexico.

Job Summary:

In business since 1938, Dialight has been pioneering some of the most innovative applications in LED technology since it was first developed in the early 1970s.  We have an immediate opening for a Product Quality and Warranty Engineer.  The successful candidate will be at the forefront of Product Quality and Warranty for Dialight’s business and will influence the future direction of our warranty and quality efforts for years to come.  You will work closely with  all our functional engineers, manufacturing facilities, senior management in the evolution of KPI’s, analysis of product performance and failures, technical support claims, and managers and technical employees in various functions and levels throughout Dialight.  You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer warranty issues and technical support claims for failure mode analysis.  The successful candidate will determine and communicate trends and give advice on how to mitigate these issues in the future.  Duties and responsibilities revolve around maximizing product performance and minimizing product failures.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on challenging state of the art projects and make a meaningful contribution to the success of Dialight using their analytical and problem solving skills and expertise in the following areas

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluating product returns and completing root cause analysis.
• Evaluating risks and identifying solutions and suggesting courses of action.
• Providing technical support for customer issues.
• Updating company documentation with tech tips.
• Testing components for system functionality.
• Drafting operational instructions and procedures as references for users.

Skills and Qualifications

Required –

• 3 to 8 yrs. experience in manufacturing, technical support or quality field
• BS in Electrical Engineering
• Excellent problem solving, analytical investigatory and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Experience in process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with both hardware and firmware analysis
• Good understanding of basic electronics test equipment to aid in fault detection

Highly Preferred –

• Risk Modeling
• Ability to read schematic layouts and wiring diagrams
• Familiarity with Salesforce
