Dialight Partners with Veolia Environmental to Offer HID Lamp, Ballast Recycling

Streamlined Recycling Program Helps Facilities & Municipalities Meet Environmental Regs with Ease When Changing Over to High-Efficiency LED Fixtures

Farmingdale, NJ (May 20, 2010) – Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), an innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, today announced that it has partnered with Veolia Environmental Services to offer high-intensity discharge (HID) and street light fixture and lamp recycling for commercial facilities and municipalities that make the switch to Dialight’s more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly LED lighting solutions.

As business and municipalities change out traditional fixtures in buildings, warehouses, streetlights and parking lots to take advantage of the cost and energy savings offered by LED technology, the discarded fixtures and lamps must be recycled or disposed of properly. Most contain hazardous materials like mercury that not only make them an environmental liability, but also expose the company or municipality to the risk of penalty for improper handling and disposal.

“LEDs are a much ‘greener’ option than traditional HID and fluorescent fixtures,” said Roy Burton, Dialight’s Group Chief Executive. “By adding this recycling option, we’re able to enhance the environmental benefits changing over to LEDs and relieve our customers of the burden in figuring out how they’re going to deal with the discarded fixtures.”

As one of the largest commercial recyclers of lamps and ballasts in the world, Veolia works with a broad range of customers to offer environmentally-compliant recycling services nation wide. Its state-of-the-art processing system ensures that customers who change out to Dialight’s LED indoor and outdoor fixtures will be able to minimize cost and maximize efficiency to meet their sustainability, regulatory compliance and budgetary requirements.
