Dialight to Present on LEDs for Street Light Applications at IMSA International

Learn How LED Technology Can Improve Light Output, Reliability and Energy Efficiency IMSA International, Dallas, TX and Farmingdale, NJ (6/22/2010)—Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), an innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, announced today that Jim Pinelli, Director of Sales and Marketing and municipal lighting expert, will present an overview of LED technology and its benefits for street lighting applications at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 26 as part of the IMSA International 115th Annual Conference & Technology Expo at the InterContinental Dallas in Dallas, TX. The one-hour session, “Demystifying LED Street Lighting Technology for Municipalities and Utilities Across the Country,” will provide a brief overview of LED, or light-emitting diode, technology and how this low-maintenance, energy-efficient lighting solution can be successfully deployed in street lighting applications. Pinelli will recommend specific criteria that potential LED users should consider as they consider LED streetlights as a replacement for their conventional fixtures. “The proven long lifespan and energy efficiency of LEDs make them ideal for streetlight applications by reducing operating and maintenance costs, while providing the same or even better quality of light versus other conventional sources,” Pinelli said. “These benefits have convinced many municipalities and utility companies to trial LED fixtures and the U.S. Department of Energy to conduct Gateway studies nationwide.” Pinelli’s presentation will highlight key benefits of LED technology for street lighting applications, including their superb energy-efficiency, light efficacy and superior optics that provide more directional lighting to reduce light pollution and achieve IDA Dark Sky Compliance. LED fixtures also offer improved wind loading properties, as well as greater resistance to shock, vibration and corrosion. The IMSA International Annual Conference has been held continuously since 1896 and is the premiere educational and networking event for public safety professionals in the areas of traffic control, fire alarms, radio communications, roadway lighting, work zone traffic control, emergency medical services and other related systems for both government organizations and private companies. The 2010 event runs June 22-29.
